the Artist’s struggle

Artist Struggle

Why are you struggling to sell your handmade items or your art?

  1. Do you see your art selling in a store?

Artists struggle to sell their products because of the selling venue they are offered.

Most shops offer consignment, or store rentals or both.

This over prices the items and slows the sale of the art work.  This makes it hard to make money to make more art.

  1. The artist emotional struggle to sell their art work.

With this boundary, artists mistakenly feel like they’re selling a piece of themselves.

This makes the artist value themselves low, when they should be valuing themselves at a higher level.

This emotional confusion causes a lot of unnecessary internal conflict.

  1. Do you have a current price list with each level of your art offerings?

Many artists don’t even have a current price list.

Why? These artists don’t know where to start when it comes to pricing their art. So they guess.

Therefore, they’re not confident in their pricing, and their customers pick up on this.

If you don’t have confidence in what you’re selling, no one else will.

  1. Do you believe that since it’s such a joy to make your art, you shouldn’t charge for it?

It’s an absolute joy for an artist to make their art. It should be.

It’s even more of joy when someone appreciates your art enough to buy it.

If you’re not selling your art, you’re denying people that opportunity and you’re denying your success.

Find a store that appreciates your art and you. That understands that an artist must create and give it back to the world, a little bit of them.
